First:  Consumer Awareness is Important!  Be an informed consumer:
When buying emu oil or emu oil products, most everyone will agree that the most important aspect to consider is that you purchase emu oil that has been FULLY-REFINED.  All oils are not the same - some are merely rendered - possibly containing bacteria, pesticides or other contamination.

                      What is Emu Oil (sometimes referred to as kalaya oil)?
Emu Oil Naturally Contains:
            Linoleic Acid:  which relieves muscle aches and joint pain;
            Oleic Acid:  a proven skin cell regenerator and anti-wrinkle agent; 
            these essential fatty acids aid in digestion and absorption of nutrients as well;
            Vitamin E:  an antioxidant and healing agent;
            Vitamin A:  a skin repairer and antioxidant;
            Sapogens:  skin softeners;
            Terpines:  antiseptics.
                                         Natural Properties of Emu Oil:
Anti-Bacterial:  does not promote bacterial growth.  In its pure state, emu oil grows no bacterial organisms; therefore, pure-refined emu oil has virtually no odor and a long shelf life.
Anti-Fungal:  does not promote the growth of fungus;  such as:  athletes foot, foot fungus, toe nail fungus, finger nail fungus, etc.
Anti-inflammatory:  effects similar to ibuprofen.  Reduces pain, swelling, stiffness in joint and muscles, recent bruising and eases muscles and tendon strains.
Hypoallergenic:  non-irritating, no known side effects.  Even at its full-strength, Emu Oil has irritation levels equivalent to water (most anti-inflammatory drugs are irritating and have side effects)
Non-Comedogenic:  does not clog pores, does not cause outbreaks, as other oils (such as mineral oil) often do.
Highly-penetrating:  non-greasy, absorbs quickly, no oily residue left behind.  Many oils or lotions, after applying, either evaporate or eventually rub off.  Emu Oil contains mostly Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that may well be the main reason for this oil's amazing ability to penetrate the skin and carry with it health-bringing medications.
Highly-moisturizing:  Due to its amazing ability to penetrate, Emu Oil protects skin and promotes anti-aging.  It has also been shown to increase skin thickness 2 to 3 times, enhancing its ability to hold moisture which, consequently, reduces and prevents wrinkles.  Studies show that Emu Oil's fatty acid esters provide increased blood flow, accelerating the healing process!  Emu Oil has been found to be very effective on burns of all types.  It alleviates the pain and dramatically reduces scarring and blistering.
